GD&T Training | GDT Training

GD&T Training courses are conducted based on your company's specific industry and products. Custom GDT Training courses can be arranged.

The courses we offer vary in length and content. They are designed to suit your requirements in order that each participant obtains a solid understanding of the principles of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and can apply them on the job immediately. Physical demonstrations along with hands on experience by participants add clarity to the theory of GD&T. This is accomplished with numerous model pieces, gauges and inspection equipment. In addition, your company may bring sample parts to the training room along with their corresponding drawings for detailed analysis and group discussions. Typical courses are as follows:

For a more detailed course description, please contact 2-B Quality.

Public GDT Seminar:
Thank you to all who attended. You made the last public seminar a success! For details on the next public seminar, please click GDT Seminar.

24 Hour Course:
Thorough coverage of all 14 geometric characteristic symbols. This includes their typical application, proper interpretation and common inspection techniques. Also includes datum selection, calculating datum shift, and the use of fixed (hard) gauges to verify geometric requirements. This is the most popular course requested.

27 Hour Course:
This course covers all topics as listed above plus the more advanced principles of GD&T. This includes tolerance stack up calculations and extended principles of tolerance of position.

18 Hour Course:
This course is ideal for those who already took a GD&T course and wish to further expand their knowledge on the subject. The course covers only advanced principles of GD&T.

Other GD&T Training Courses:
Other courses can be customized to suit your company's needs. This may include courses for company owners, managers and supervisory personnel. This overview of GD&T, identifies the benefits of GD&T over the conventional system of dimensioning and tolerancing. The focus is on the numerous ways in which companies can save money by implementing and understanding GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994.

The courses work best with up to 12 attendees, however a maximum of 20 can be arranged.

Consider an In-House Training Program as compared to an Out-Of-Town Seminar:

  • No travel, meals and hotel expenses for each participant
  • No travel time away from the job
  • Participants can focus and absorb the material presented without the usual distractions of out-of-town seminars
  • You choose the time and the days of your in-house program
  • Your suppliers can be contacted to attend the training with you
  • We discuss your designs, products and inspection capabilities

NOTE:
We also offer a more personalized geometric dimensioning and tolerancing course for 1 to 5 people at the office of 2-B Quality. This allows the instructor and participants to cover the best mix of fundamentals and advanced principles of GD&T as needed to fulfill the learning requirements of this small team.
